ENO recommendation: Slavonia is the home of Riesling, and Traminer, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Frankovka, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zweigelt and other varieties. Riesling is certainly the most valuable Slavonian vineyard varieties. Traminer from the Slavonian soil gives dry or semi-dry wine, unlike other areas where it is usually very sweet, while Riesling provides quality dry wine, tasting similar to the German Rhine Riesling.
