Dalmatia - Rural Holiday Home Rentals

Dalmatia, with its long coastline and the mountains that hang over the coastline, its many islands, sunny climate, and two tourist pearl - Split and Dubrovnik - counts as the largest and most popular tourist region in Croatia. It is located in the central part of the Adriatic coast and represents the true, genuine Mediterranean. It is a land of sun, warm sea, olives, wine, fish, song and picturesque villages with stone houses. Nature lovers are equally attracted to the white peaks of mountains, green foothills and sandy beaches, as they provide numerous opportunities for active recreation.

North Dalmatia with cities of Zadar and Sibenik and smaller towns in the hinterland and on the islands offers a beautiful blend of rich cultural and historical heritage and beautiful nature. National parks Paklenica, Kornati Archipelago and Krka waterfalls are only part of the offer.

Epithets that adorn the central Dalmatia, situated in the heart of the Adriatic, are beautiful, joyful, singing. Few regions can boast so many natural diversity. Beautiful islands, deep lakes and still unexplored riches of underground caves in the Mediterranean area in sharp contrast to the wild rapids and calm rivers in the mountainous part of the Dalmatian hinterland. The mountain range divides the Dalmatian hinterland from the historic city of Split.

Southern Dalmatia is the southernmost part of Croatia, situated on a narrow coastal area. It is best known for the historic city of Dubrovnik, which city walls are under protection of UNESCO.
Take a walk through the medieval city walls, visit Elaphite islands, peninsula of Peljesac and Mljet National Park. Visit the charming small towns in the hinterland of Dubrovnik, known for its fine wines, traditional food and very hospitable people.

Northern and central Dalmatia are well connected by road with the rest of Europe and Croatia. Rail and air links are also very good. Aircraft and ships regularly operate. Southern Dalmatia, because of its distance, is the region hardest accessible due to the fact that there is no rail connection, and no modern highways yet. Most usual ways to reach this interesting part of Dalmatia is by air and by sea.
