Natural attractions on Kvarner and Kvarner Bay, Croatia

The clear blue sea is a major asset of the Adriatic Sea, as recognized by the bottlenose dolphins that live in large numbers in the waters of the island of Cres and Losinj. The island of Cres is also the habitat of the griffon vulture.

It is worth mentioning stony medieval town-fortress in Lubenice on the island. Lubenice are special in that it rises to the top of a cliff 378 meters high. Vrana Lake is a freshwater lake deep 70 meters, situated in the midst of the sea, and is an ornithological reserve. Island Košljun on the island dates back to pre-Christian era and is a favorite tourist destination. Here in the 11th century formed the Benedictine abbey, still well preserved. Picnickers especially attracts a wealth of natural beauty and tranquility that reigns islets, and a luxurious collection.

The most famous cultural and historical monument is certainly Baska Tablet on the island, the first evidence of literacy in our region.
