See our offerThe underground world of rural Istria (Croatia) delights tourists and visitors with the underground halls, lakes, streams, cracks, pits and caves. There is, besides the natural beauty, a variety of flora and fauna, and the most interesting is the olm, endemic species that live only in these areas.
In Istria, near the National Park Brijuni, there are six forest parks, nine protected parts of the landscape, five botanical nature monuments, a zoological nature monument, three geomorphological and a geological monument of nature.
The mountain massif Učka, the highest point of Istria, was declared a nature park, because the area found several protected plant and animal species. Učka has lots of hiking trails, ideal for hiking, harvesting of medicinal plants and forest, at the foot of the bike paths, mountain huts and lodges.
