Natural attractions in Lika and Gorski Kotar, Croatia

Based on the number and diversity of natural attractions, Lika and Gorski Kotar take absolute leadership of the Croatian territory. National parks and nature parks, protected landscapes, protected plant and animal species, various monuments and nature reserves complement the wealth of biological diversity and ecological balance.

Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the best known natural phenomenon destination, which positively affects the psychological and physical condition of people. There are also national parks North Velebit, Paklenica and Risnjak, which again each have their peculiarities.

A well-preserved environment, extremely clean rivers and green mountains give the impression of natural and rural landscape, to which the negative characteristics of urbanization are not reached. Such a value of this rural area completes its coastal-island part which belongs to one of the ecologically cleanest parts of the Croatian archipelago.
