The coastal area 445 km long, located just 30 minutes drive from the interior of Istria, is abundant in tourist centers with rich tourist venue for those seeking sea, sun and beach vacation. The most famous coastal tourist spots are Umag, Porec, Rovinj, Rovinj, Pula, Medulin and Rabac.

Istria's eventful history is evidenced by the many buildings, such as, the Roman monuments of the Arena (Roman amphitheater), Dijanas and Augustus Temple, the Twin Gate and the Golden Gate in Pula, Euphrasian Byzantine Basilica in Porec, the medieval town of Rovinj with imposing baroque church of Sv. Euphemia.

In addition to its natural and cultural sights, Istria offers its visitors a varied, extremely delicious local cuisine. Besides being known for its ham and truffles, it has been recognized by the indigenous varieties of grapes - Malvasia and Teran, from which arise the famous wines. Recently, Istria is conquering Europe with top quality olive oils.

Istria is relatively well connected with the rest of Croatia and Europe. Although there are bus and rail connections, as well as ferries and air flights to Istria, the most practical way to reach Istria is still by car. Local buses are frequent and reliable. The only problem may represent a bus stop located at times outside the residence.
