Natural attractions of Central Croatia

Beautiful castles are scattered throughout rural destination and the right attraction for abundance and conservation. Baroque cities of Varazdin and Ozalj give this area an added charm.

Nature park Lonja Field, rich in flora and fauna, is among the most beautiful wetlands in Europe. Near Lonja Field there is the place Čigoć, where there are more storks than men. The white stork nests are bent at nearly every house.

Krapina is known Neanderthal excavation sites, they found a total of 876 on a hill near Krapina. More about the life and culture of the Neanderthal man may be seen in a specialized museum.
